From river to gorge top, the semi-remote Mitchell River Walking Track follows the west bank of the river downstream from Angusvale through the Den of Nargun gorge, which is lined with remnants of temperate rainforest. The 18km Mitchell River Walking Track is best completed in 2 days or a day for fitter, distance walkers, and commences at the Angusvale camp area to the north. Walk takes you along the sandy western bank to the start of the West Wall. Mitchell Falls resides in Mitchell River National Park near Kununurra in Western Australia. Leads to a sandbar at the junction of the Fitzroy and Margaret, a popular fishing and swimming place. Continue following Bairnsdale-Dargo road and turn right onto Mitchell Dam Road, which becomes Angusvale Road, to access Angusvale camp ground. Elwood to Sandringham Walk. South of the Den is Weir Lane and Old Weir Track, which runs to the remnants of a Glenaladale Weir- which was constructed around 1892-1893. Again, these other attractions were not possible for us to do given the limited amount of time we were given at Mitchell Falls.
